Joint SystemSOFTlab worked in conjunction with 4-pli to develop a parametric construction system. The system is composed of a parametric joint detail and a MEL script to panelize polygonal surfaces. The script queries the angle between the panels and creates the joint detail specific to that angle, then it generates the necessary tool-paths to produce the panels and joints using various CNC equipment. We produced a prototype of the system as a bench for our studio |
