Governor's Island

SOFTlab collaborated with Martin/ Baxi Architects on this proposal for Governor's Island. The project includes a master plan for the southern half of the island, conserving the northern half as a historic zone. The plan proposes a giant greenhouse, enclosing a park with 30 unique landscapes and 30 low-rise buildings. Ten commercial towers rise above the greenhouse. The mixed-use plan creates a self-sustaining environment by accommodating a diverse range of programs, from the mundane to the exotic.
